Designed by Edward L. Combs, this is one of the finest cathedral radios ever made. Introduced in 1931 to offset a drop in sales of high priced sets, the Philco cathedral went on to become one of the most popular radios of all time and is especially sought after by collectors. It filled a need for a low priced radio during the depression. With a price of $49.95, nearly three hundred thousand model 70's were sold.
