USS Shark II (SS-314) is launched 17 October 1943 at Groton, CT.

Shark II was lost with all hands 24 October 1944, the second submarine with that name to be lost. In February 1942, USS Shark (SS-174) was lost with all hands. All together 52 US submarines were lost in WW II.
