This is a gaff rig Maxwell cutter I built during the years 1972 to 1986. She was christened on August 17, 1985 as the Thomas C. Allen in memory of our oldest son, Tom, who died in 1979. She is mahogany on white oak with a 10hp Volvo diesel engine. There are three bunks and the settee's have fold down back rests. She sets a main, staysail, jib, jib topsail and gaff topsail for a total of 575 sq ft of sail. Displacement is 4 1/2 tons.
